Eligibility :

            To the eligibility for admission into the B.Com. 1st semester class, a student has to pass the higher secondary (10+2) examination in commerce & science stream under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or any other equivalent examination recognized by Dibrugarh University. Preference will be given to candidates having commerce at 10+2 level.

1 Newspaper Notice/Notification through College/Institutes websites inviting

applications for admission into the different programmes shall be issued by the Principals of the colleges/institutes as per the Academic Calendar of the University.

The minimum eligibility for admission into the UG programmes shall be as below:

2 Minimum eligibility criteria for admission in Four Year Undergraduate programmes:

Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Higher Secondary (Class 12) Certificate

obtained after successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent stage of education and/or

Admission test conducted by College/University/National Level Testing Agency/State Level

Testing Agency.

3 Minimum eligibility criteria for multiple entry points of the UG programmes

1. 1st year: Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Higher Secondary (Class

12) Certificate obtained after successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent stage of

education and/or Admission test conducted by College/University/National Level

Testing Agency/State Level Testing Agency.

1. 2nd year: A certificate obtained after successful completion of 1 year (2 semesters) of

the undergraduate programme. These students are to take admission in the 2nd year

within a period of three years from obtaining the UG certificate from Dibrugarh

University or any other University/institution recognized by Dibrugarh University.

1. 3rd year: A diploma obtained after successful completion of 2 years (4 semesters) of

the undergraduate programme. These students are to take admission in the 3rd year UG

programme within a period of three years from obtaining the UG diploma from

Dibrugarh University or any other University/institution recognized by Dibrugarh

University.

1. 4th Year (Honours): A Bachelor’s degree after successful completion of three years

(6 semesters) of the Undergraduate programme obtained from Dibrugarh University

or any other University/institution recognized by Dibrugarh University. These students

are to complete the degree within the stipulated maximum period of seven years.

1. 4th Year (Honours with Research): A three year Bachelor Degree with a minimum

of 7.5 CGPA. The minimum entry requirement for 4th year (Honours/Research) UG

programme within a period of three years from obtaining 3 year Bachelor Degree from

Dibrugarh University or any other University/institution recognized by Dibrugarh

University. These students are to complete the degree within the stipulated maximum

period of seven years.

4.The admission or eligibility criteria shall be fixed by the Academic Council from time to

time whenever necessary. The University/ colleges/ institutes may also adopt own policy

for admission or selection of eligible candidates for admission complying with the

eligibility criteria as prescribed.

5. Statutory reservation policy of the government shall be followed in case of selection of

eligible candidates for admission.

(a)    Application for admission into college should be made in prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of requisite fees.

(b)    Admission into college is made strictly in ORDER of merit and is goverNed by admission rules. Decision of the admission committee regarding admission is final.

(c)    All admissions are strictly on merit, subject to the reservation for caste (SC/ST(P)/ST(C)/OBC/MOBC) as per the standing rules of government of Assam. An attested photocopy of the caste certificate must be attached along with the admission form. Any application form without an attested photocopy of the caste certificate will be considered under general category.

(d)    Candidates are required to produce at the time of admission the original copies of –

(i) Marksheet of the last qualifying examination.

(ii) Pass Certificate of the last qualifying examination.

(iiI) Age proof certificate (HSLC Admit Card).

(iv) Character certificate from the Head of the institute last attended.

(v) Caste Certificate from competent authority wherever necessary.

(vi) Student passing the qualifying examination earlier than the current year will have to submit court affidavit. (Candidates having more than one year gap will not be eligible for admission.)

(e)  Students opting for specialty course in Accounts & Finance and Marketing shall have to apply separately to the concerned HOD within 7 days after admission along with the attested copy of HS marksheet. selection are made strictly on merit basis while maximum in take capacity in the specialty course is 50 and 50 respectively. Cut off marks for speciality course is 45 in the qualifying examination.

(f)  No application form shall be accepted after the last date as notified earlier and any incomplete application form will stand automatically cancelled.

(g) Admission are provisional and subject to the approval of Dibrugarh University.

(h) Admission into B.Com. 3rd semester and B.Com. 5th semester will take place immediately after completion of B.Com. 2nd and 4th semester examination respectively.

Additional information in relation to admission:

1. Submission of Migration Certificate:

            Students from board or university other than AHSEC shall have to produce migration certificate at the time of admission.

2. Admission and Commencement of classes

            B.Com first semester admission will take place immediately after the declaration of H.S. (Final) examination results and classes will commence on a date to be notified by the college authority after the

admission.
